Role Overview:
This role is focused on ensuring the effective management and governance of data assets within a specific domain.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the assigned data domain.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives based on business value and alignment.
- Anticipate data needs of product squads and promote data as a strategic asset.
Data Governance Principles:
- Establish and maintain adherence to data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Implement data quality management across domains, including metric definition, monitoring, and issue remediation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies, such as GDPR or industry-specific standards.
Data Asset Maintenance:
- Develop and maintain core data assets, including master data, transactional data, and reference data.
- Partner with data engineering teams to implement scalable data solutions.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data-related matters within the domain.
- Collaborate with functional leaders, business analysts, and other domain managers to understand requirements.
- Ensure transparency in data priorities, progress, and decision-making.
Operational Performance:
- Manage data lifecycle processes, including acquisition, storage, transformation, and archiving.
- Monitor data system performance and resolve escalated issues.
- Optimize processes to enhance data availability, reliability, and usability.
Analytics Support:
- Support analytics and reporting needs with high-quality, well-documented, and governed datasets.
- Partner with analytics and data science teams to deliver insights and drive innovation within the domain.
